With a mom who could never stop singing me to sleep and a dad who used to DJ in his spare time at school, I have always had artistic blood running through me. Growing up under the saffron-yellow sun of Orange County, I spent a lot of my time looking at the beach and drinking one too many matcha lattes. Something about being by the beach fueled my love of daydreaming and imagining the only place that I felt I fit in – theater. My first exposure to theatre was in the 6th grade when I went to a community theater to watch Beauty and the Beast – and just like that I was hooked.  Ever since that day, I realized I had an immense connection to theater and couldn’t imagine a life without it.  By the time I was a senior in high school – I had performed in countless plays and musicals, and directed a production.  Being at UCLA has taught me to own my voice and has given me the ability to feel comfortable in my own skin. I grew up watching the popular teen shows and films that rarely represented the East-Indian community and those who looked like myself. My dream is to collaborate and create characters that celebrate and spark life in me while inspiring brown people of the world. I cannot wait to continue pushing myself while continuing to grow and challenge myself as an actor and artist (with a latte in hand, at all times of course).
